the taste of the season

The Taste of the Season

Early summer is when the farm shop is at its most abundant. British produce is at its peak; events are in full swing and there’s inspiration everywhere you look.

What’s in season?

May and June bring some of the most loved British produce of the year:

  • Sweet, juicy strawberries

  • Fresh asparagus

  • Peppery rocket and summer leaves

  • New potatoes

  • Courgettes

  • British tomatoes (British tomato fortnight 2nd-16th June)

Shopping seasonally means better flavour, better quality and supporting British growers at their very best.

producer spotlight - rectory farm

We’re proud to work with Rectory Farm, a family-run farm in Oxfordshire growing exceptional seasonal produce.

Right now, it’s their delicious British asparagus that’s in season - fresh, vibrant and full of flavour. The season is always too short in our opinion, and far too good to miss, so this is your last chance to enjoy it at its very best before it disappears.

For a simple but standout pairing, serve with shavings of Lyburn Old Winchester and a generous spoon of Atkins & Potts Hollandaise sauce - rich, savoury, and perfectly balanced.

Support British farming and enjoy produce at its freshest - and make the most of asparagus while you still can (until next year, of course!).

Producer Spotlight – Isle of Wight Tomatoes

We’re proud to work with Isle of Wight Tomatoes, specialists in growing some of the most flavour-packed tomatoes in the UK.

Grown in the unique coastal climate of the Isle of Wight, their tomatoes benefit from high sunshine levels and carefully controlled growing conditions, resulting in naturally sweet, vibrant fruit with exceptional depth of flavour.

From juicy cherry tomatoes to rich, full-bodied varieties perfect for salads, roasting or simple summer dishes, they’re a true celebration of British produce at its peak.

Taste the difference, support British growers and bring a little sunshine to your plate.
