It's Game on at our Butchers: Game season 2026
Game is one of autumn’s real seasonal treats…
As the season continues, you’ll find a growing selection of British game at our butchery counters. We source most of our game from Hazelwood Game in Romsey, Hampshire, with wood pigeon, partridge and venison among the early arrivals. Later in the season, look out for pheasant, wild duck, rabbit and other changing favourites.
If game is new to you, don’t be nervous about giving it a go. It is full of flavour, naturally high in protein and many lean cuts provide useful nutrients including iron and vitamin B12. It is also a brilliant way to bring something different to an autumn stew, pie, roast or burger.
