Your Guide to Autumn 2026 at Cobbs
Seasonal food, family days out and everything you need to bring autumn home.
There’s something special about autumn at Cobbs. The air turns crisp (we hope!), the farm shops fill with the colours of the harvest and our cafés become the perfect place to pause over something warm and comforting. Whether you’re planning a family day out, looking for seasonal supper inspiration or simply fancy coffee and cake with a friend, there’s plenty to enjoy this September and October.
This season, we’re celebrating autumn in three delicious ways: eating well in our cafés, discovering the best of the British harvest and taking a little taste of Cobbs home with you.
Eat: cosy lunches & seasonal flavours
Our new autumn café menu launches on Monday 21st September, bringing hearty breakfasts, comforting seasonal favourites, popular toasties and a colourful autumn nourish bowl to the table. Add warming drinks, homemade scones, brownies and cakes, and you have every excuse for a long-overdue catch-up.
Sundays are made for roasts, too. From 12pm to 3pm, you can settle in for a traditional roast with all the trimmings, with children’s portions available for younger diners.
Please note that Sunday roasts are not currently available at our Winchester Farm Shop.
Discover: THE BEST OF THE HARVEST
September and October bring some of the finest British produce of the year. Look out for crisp British apples, Hampshire potatoes, pumpkins and colourful squash, alongside changing selections of roots, brassicas, pears, plums and locally made chutneys and preserves.
Autumn is also the perfect time to try British game. As the season develops, our butchery counters will offer a changing selection. Our butchers are always happy to recommend a cut and explain how to make the most of it at home.
There’s plenty happening beyond the shelves as well...
Join us for our Macmillan Coffee Morning on 25th September, visit the Hungerford or Stratford pumpkin patches from 23rd October, or roll up your sleeves at one of our sausage-making workshops on 28th October. Seasonal availability and event details can vary, so check the relevant event page before travelling.
Buy: Bring autumn home
A brilliant autumn supper starts with the harvest. Roast squash with sausages and red onions, turn potatoes and seasonal roots into a comforting traybake, or pair British apples with pork. Add something from the deli, a jar of local chutney and perhaps a bottle from our wine selection, and dinner is almost sorted.
Make a day of it…
October half term is one of the liveliest times of year at Cobbs, especially at our Hungerford and Stratford pumpkin patches. If you’d like to eat with us before or after your visit, we strongly recommend booking a café table in advance.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.
