Did you know that Cobbs Founder and Chairman, the brilliant and ever-charming David Bruce OBE, has just released his autobiography The Firkin Saga?
If you’ve ever had a chat with David, you’ll know he’s full of incredible stories! From founding the iconic Firkin pubs to brewing some truly legendary ales (and having a fair few adventures along the way from Paris to Seattle via New York and Denver!). His book is just like him: entertaining, honest, and full of humour, while sharing invaluable, hard-won business lessons throughout.
We feel incredibly fortunate to have David as part of the Cobbs family. His passion for great food, drink, and community spirit inspires everything we do. Beyond Cobbs, he’s also the founder of the Bruce Boats on the Kennet & Avon Canal, the UK’s largest fleet of accessible wide-beam boats for disabled people, devoting his time and energy to supporting the community through this remarkable philanthropic venture.
